Protecting the ear canal from water

Water in your ear canal is uncomfortable, but frequent or prolonged exposure to water, especially cold water, can also cause surfer's ear. This progressive condition is accompanied by exostosis – abnormal bone growth in the ear canal. To prevent this, Alpine developed specialised watersports earplugs. Alpine WaterSafe Pro and SwimSafe earplugs have water-repellent filters that protect the ear canal from water while still allowing you to hear essential sounds. Our watersports earplugs also protect your ears from wind noise.
